Call for nerdy help

I’d like to eventually export all of the posts from FTLOG and move them here, with their own category. While I can find all kinds of info about *importing* into wordpress, I’m not finding much about exporting — or importing from WP to WP, for that matter.
Any hints or suggestions?

This is a bit out of my nerd field of expertise, but I did a Google search for “import export wordpress” and I found this site, which has a downloadable program for moving entries and comments from one Wordpress blog to another.
